My Family's Story

In 1986, my son, Tyler, was born with health challenges. He had a heart condition called tetralogy of fallot which means a hole in his heart along with a defective heart valve and an enlarged left chamber. Tyler also had an eye defect causing low vision.

When Tyler was 4 days old, he had his first surgery - a shunt to help him grow so he could have open heart surgery when he turned 4 years old. From the time he was born until 4 years old, he was in and out of the hospital multiple times.

A friend introduced me to a chiropractor in Indianapolis, IN named Dr. Sue Morter. She was the first doctor who talked to us about Tyler's body being in emergency mode physiology, which caused him to not sleep, have poor digestive issues, and fail to thrive. Our family saw Dr. Morter regularly for 6 months and learned how to heal Tyler's body by balancing with B.E.S.T. (Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique), alkalizing his diet, 4-step breathing method, and following the 6 essentials of life.

After 6 months of following Dr. Sue's recommendations, Tyler began to thrive - he started being a kid again! Then at the age of 4, Tyler had a successful open heart surgery, but then learned of another small hole in his heart. So, another surgery was done at the age of 5. Tyler was getting depressed at this time, so the hospital staff suggested his 11-year-old sister come and visit. This made him so happy and soon after, Tyler returned home to heal and grow.

Tyler was excited to start kindergarten because he love entertaining people with his comedy and using big words. He was super little in size but also very mighty! He was a poster child for Easter Seals at the age of 3 and went to Six Flags through the Dream Factory at the age of 5. Unfortunately, Tyler was too small to ride on the rides and he would stretch as tall as he could just to try to get on! Life started getting back to normal for the Hoyle family. Tyler started regular division school, mom and dad went back to work, and his sister started fifth grade. Several years later, we continue to heal and grow!

My Business Story

In 1992, I decided I wanted to learn and share about holistic health. I mentored with Dr. Sue Morter, D.C. and her father, Dr. M.T. Morter, D.C. I made the decision to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic and obtain my chiropractic license.

It was a life changing experience for our family. I would leave on Monday morning and come back on Friday afternoons. My husband, Randy, worked during this time while holding down the fort the best he knew how. My daughter, Miranda, went to school and looked after Tyler in the afternoons until Randy returned home. Tyler was a very adventurous child while his parents were away!

It was 6 LONG YEARS until I graduated from Palmer in June of 1998. Tyler was starting junior high with Miranda as a senior in high school. Randy and I decided to open the practice in March 1999 called the Family Wellness Institute. We invited our good friend, Peggy, to join us as a massage therapist. We grew rapidly in the 13 years we were there. We practiced Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique (B.E.S.T.), massage therapy, BRT, red light therapy facials, and hosted many holistic workshops. Business was booming until the recession in 2010. Then it all changed.

I practiced as an independent contractor with a few groups. In 2018, I decided to open up my own office space as a health and wellness coach in fundamental medicine. Today, almost 4 years later, my daughter and I are working as a team creating a Holistic, Healthy, Healing practice and we absolutely love it!
